Eyas is the solo project of Andres Renteria. Andres has been a recording and touring percussionist and drummer for fellow Angelenos such as Mia Doi Todd, Flying Lotus’ Infinity Band, Domingo Siete, and Swedish singer/songwriter Jose Gonzalez. Andres has been a contributor to bands like Build An Ark, the Life Force Trio, Go:Organic Orchestra. In 2008, he co-wrote, co-produced, and played on singer Gaby Hernandez’ debut lover’s rock album “When Love”.
“It Will Become” is an album born of road trips through the California of one’s mind, where deserts and coast meet and the roots and branches of cactus and redwoods intertwine. The eleven songs on this album take the listener rock hopping the boulders of Joshua Tree, on rides on the backs of dolphins in the Pacific Ocean, through poppy fields in the Tehachapi Mountains, and through sand castles built with the sands of the central coast.
The debut album by Eyas, “It Will Become” will be released March 20, 2012 by Poobah Records and distributed digitally by Alpha Pup Records.
